Questions from Bowlers How do I use GETAGAMEOFBOWLS to find a tournament and place my entry? Click on the state you want to play in In the list of games look for the date you want to play on and the type of game you want to play in. You can sort the list by clicking on the column heading Click on the 'play' link at the end of the row. You will receive full details of the club and the tournament Can I enter a tournament through GETAGAMEOFBOWL? Underneath the details of the club and the tournament there is a form you can use to enter the tournament of your choice. Complete the form and click send. You will then receive a confirmation note Does it cost me anything to make an entry? There is no charge to bowlers entering tournaments. If you are a full member of a bowling club you have playing rights at every other club in Australia and your entry should be accepted on the same terms as those applicable to a member of that club. How will I know that my entry has been accepted? We suggest that clubs receiving entries should reply by email within 48 hours. If you do not receive a reply we suggest that you ring the club. Will my email address be given away to anyone? We keep no record of email addresses and other information sent through the getagameofbowls email entry form Questions from Clubs How can my club list its tournaments on getagameofbowls? We have allocated a username and pin to every known bowling club in Australia and we will be communicating this information to the clubs by mail or email in the near future. If your club has not yet received this information, go to the registration page by clicking here and you will receive this information within 24 hours. I have the username and pin. How do I make an entry? Go to getagameofbowls.com and click on the link 'add to list' at the bottom of any page. Enter your username and pin. If this is your club's first listing, spend time to update the club information which appears first on this page. The name and address of the club should be corrected, with the address shown being the postal address for the club. The contact person's name and email address should be that of a person who will check emails regularly and have the authority to accept emailed entries and list them at the club. The email address will not be available to someone who is casually looking at the page. If you have a club web site enter it so that potential players can see more about your club than getagameofbowls offers. Under 'green location' and 'find greens' give information which will help strangers to your district get to your game on time. Enter the details of your tournament. Don't forget to put in both the tournament date and entry close date using the drop down lists provided Place your tournament in one of the type shown in the drop down box, or enter the type of the tournament in the box below the list if it does not fit. You are not allowed to include your sponsors name as part of the type of tournament. Enter other details in full. Under prizes give some details of how prizes if any will be distributed You should enter the name of any sponsor here - it will appear on the tournament details page (no charge) and on the state and national listing if you choose to pay for this. How long will the listing appear for? Your tournament will appear on the site from the day you list it until the day it is played, gradually moving to the top of the list. Do I have to remove the listing when the tournament has been played? The listing will disappear on the date entries close and will be deleted from our data base 30 days later. We want list a tournament which is played monthly - can this be done quickly? At the bottom of the listing page you will see a list of tournaments from your club currently on our database. If you click on one of these tournaments the entry form above will be filled in. You then only have to enter the dates and make any other changes needed. Your additional monthly (or weekly!!) tournaments can be listed in less than a minute. Can we list all of our social games free of charge? Initially we have allocated 10 free credits to every club in our database. These ten free credits will allow you to list 10 social tournaments or 5 prizemoney tournaments. When your club's credit balance falls below four you will be given the chance to purchase more credits. Because we want clubs to always be able to list social events free of charge, your will be able to obtain an additional 10 credits free of charge as many time as you need to to list social events If clubs who use enhance listing do so by taking several lots of 10 free credits their listing will be deleted. We will be very happy if you want to list a weekly tournament every week of the year If we participate, do you have any expectations of our club? WWW.GETAGAMEOFBOWLS.COM will work for bowlers if there are a lot of listings from clubs and for clubs if lots of bowlers access the site. We hope you will advertise your participation in club newsletters and at club meetings, and use some of our drink coasters. If you have a club website we expect that you will put a link to getagameofbowls.com in a prominent place . What does it cost to list social tournaments? It will never cost you a cent to list social games. When your balance of credits fall below four you can 'purchase' an additional 10 credits for NO CHARGE What does it cost to list prize money tournaments? A tournament in which the total amount of prizemoney is shown costs 2 credits. If you just want to show the prizemoney for a few prizemoney tournaments per year you may do this using free credits. However if you choose to show the amount of prize money in red and bold bold, which costs additional credits, your club should buy 20 credits for $25 or make a voluntary contribution of $10 on a free invoice. Can we show the name of the sponsor of our tournament? Your sponsor's name will appear in the details of the tournament seen by any potential player who clicks on 'play'. There is n o charge for this exposure If your sponsors would like their name to appear in the state listings (and stand out in red), it will cost you an additional ten credits. This is a very reasonable charge for up to 12 months exposure on a national web site, and you could certainly use this to market your club to sponsors. There is a place on the tournament entry page where with one click you have the sponsor's name appearing in state listings. If you choose to show your sponsor's name on any tournament you should pay to purchase additional credits (20 for $25, 50 for $50, 100 for $90 How do we get our tournaments to appear in the state or national featured listing? State featured events appear both in a separate list at the top of the state page and in the general listing and players can click to the tournament details page from either place. A state feature costs an additional 20 credits. National featured events appear on the getagameofbowls.com home page and cost an additional 20 credits. If we have used all our free credits, how do we get and pay for addtional credits? If your club has less than five credits left you will be told this after you make a listing and asked to purchase additional credits. These are priced at 20 for $25, 50 for $50 or 100 for $90. When you click on 'buy more credits' you will receive an invoice to print and hand to your treasurer and the additional credits will immediately become available.
